Very honest portrayal of his life, I thought。 It's amazing that he's turned out to be such a good person and as Greg Gutfeld has said, "The smartest man I know"。 Very honest portrayal of his life, I thought。 It's amazing that he's turned out to be such a good person and as Greg Gutfeld has said, "The smartest man I know"。 。。。more

Look forward to seeing what you may accomplish in supporting a better America。 You pick this up, beware, you cannot put this down until you finish。

I REALLY liked it because I like Tyrus。 I enjoyed learning more about his life even though his childhood had loads of heartache and that made me sad。 One thing he believes in is accountability。 Own your mistakes, learn from them and move on。 And he believes in something I believe in very strongly。。。。TERM LIMITS!!!!!! He said everything I think about that subject。

I listened to the audiobook even though this app says the audiobook is not an option。 I love Tyrus for his humility, honesty, and common sense。 He is a human first and something we should all strive to prioritize。 His story is tough, just as many of us had a rough road。 This is certainly why I connected with the story。 But what I love is that he demonstrates we are not defined by our experiences but rather by our choices。 We can choose to do and be better。 BRAVO GEORGE and thanks for sharing you I listened to the audiobook even though this app says the audiobook is not an option。 I love Tyrus for his humility, honesty, and common sense。 He is a human first and something we should all strive to prioritize。 His story is tough, just as many of us had a rough road。 This is certainly why I connected with the story。 But what I love is that he demonstrates we are not defined by our experiences but rather by our choices。 We can choose to do and be better。 BRAVO GEORGE and thanks for sharing your story 。。。more

Interesting man who started off with a broken family and multiple life struggles。 He had many surprising opportunities in his life。 He easily could have taken a negative life path but he became a caring, common sense, successful guy。

It’s like you’re sitting down with Tyrus, and he’s telling you stories of his very interesting life。 He doesn’t go into everything, but most of what he shares is great stuff。 It’s remarkable that he was able to flourish with the tough start he had to endure。 There were many ways he could have ended up in a darker place。

Holly

Enjoyed learning about Tyrus’ life。 Easy, quick read。

For me it focused too much on his wrestling。 I know him from Greg Gutfeld and Fox News not as a wrestler。

Go ahead, Judge a book by its cover。 I saw it and thought I bet this guy has one hell of a story。 I was right。 What a ride!!! Highly recommend if you like true stories of triumph over adversity。

I had never heard of Tyrus until he appeared on Fox News with Gregg Gutfeld and it took me a while to figure out why he was on the show。 I enjoyed the story Tyrus tells of his life and the fact that he states he is telling the "good, the bad, and the ugly"。 What I find missing is the story of the family Tyrus now has。 I could find no mention of them。。。even at the end when he mentions all the people who have shaped his life。 I looked him up on the internet and found that he has five children and I had never heard of Tyrus until he appeared on Fox News with Gregg Gutfeld and it took me a while to figure out why he was on the show。 I enjoyed the story Tyrus tells of his life and the fact that he states he is telling the "good, the bad, and the ugly"。 What I find missing is the story of the family Tyrus now has。 I could find no mention of them。。。even at the end when he mentions all the people who have shaped his life。 I looked him up on the internet and found that he has five children and is involved with a white woman with whom he has one child。 Why doesn't he include them in his story? Is he protecting them, does he feel they are nobody's business, or is he ashamed of the story of their existence because it doesn't fit into his narrative of his life story? I am inspired by his story and how he overcame so much in his life to get to where he is today but I can't help wondering about the huge part of his life that he left out。 。。。more

Loved this book。What I’ll remember from this read is this…。“No matter how people may come after you and attack you, it’s your reaction that defines you。 You can’t allow yourself to become a slave to their emotions and reactions。”- Tyrus

This book is a thought provoking gem。 George Murdoch had a violent abysmal start to life but has managed to carve out many careers for himself。 Now known as Tyrus, he has been a homeless high schooler, a college student, a college football player, a football coach on Snoop Dog’s youth league, a college graduate, a bouncer, a bodyguard to Snoop Dog, a WWE wrestler, an Impact wrestler and most recently a commentator on the Greg Gutfeld show。 He takes no prisoners and his common sense approach to l This book is a thought provoking gem。 George Murdoch had a violent abysmal start to life but has managed to carve out many careers for himself。 Now known as Tyrus, he has been a homeless high schooler, a college student, a college football player, a football coach on Snoop Dog’s youth league, a college graduate, a bouncer, a bodyguard to Snoop Dog, a WWE wrestler, an Impact wrestler and most recently a commentator on the Greg Gutfeld show。 He takes no prisoners and his common sense approach to life and his innate intelligence and goodness managed to survive all the ups, downs and horrific encounters he had from an early age。 We need more free thinkers like him! 。。。more

George Murdoch had a miserable childhood, but he's not let it control his entire adult life。 As "Tyrus" he made a safe place within which he has full control of his life as an entertainer。 He actually comes across as a person who i would like to know yet better。 George Murdoch had a miserable childhood, but he's not let it control his entire adult life。 As "Tyrus" he made a safe place within which he has full control of his life as an entertainer。 He actually comes across as a person who i would like to know yet better。 。。。more

Mostly about his childhood and early adulthood, then rushed through the parts I was interested in。 Wished there were a lot more anecdotes about wrestling and about gutfeld, and there was nothing at all about his children and his home now。 The book could have easily been 75 pages longer。 Nothig recent, as if it were written several years ago。

I’m a huge fan of Tyrus。 I broke my cardinal rule of not buying books but to wait until my local library had the book。 I couldn’t wait。 I bought “Just Tyrus。” The beginning of the book was painful to read。 I knew he had a rough childhood but I didn’t know the depths of how bad it was。 I think his retelling of these early stories made it a rough read。 He has this almost detached way of telling the story。 “This is what happened。 #nuffsaid。” But through all of his journey, Tyrus never feels sorry h I’m a huge fan of Tyrus。 I broke my cardinal rule of not buying books but to wait until my local library had the book。 I couldn’t wait。 I bought “Just Tyrus。” The beginning of the book was painful to read。 I knew he had a rough childhood but I didn’t know the depths of how bad it was。 I think his retelling of these early stories made it a rough read。 He has this almost detached way of telling the story。 “This is what happened。 #nuffsaid。” But through all of his journey, Tyrus never feels sorry himself。 He dusts himself off and moves on to the next challenge。 His “thank you” to his dad was especially blunt and honest。 But as he said a few pages earlier, “…but I’ve never been a victim。” 。。。more

I don’t really read nonfiction but decided to give this a try since a YA librarian recommended it。 My friend had read it and really liked it too, and she sent me a copy。 I really think his story will resonate with my school population。 Now, per school policy I have to get 4 librarians and 4 staff members to approve it so I can put it in the library。 I did tweet Tyrus about how “adult” it is and he said there were some f words。 There are a few more cursies, but I wouldn’t say it’s too much for my I don’t really read nonfiction but decided to give this a try since a YA librarian recommended it。 My friend had read it and really liked it too, and she sent me a copy。 I really think his story will resonate with my school population。 Now, per school policy I have to get 4 librarians and 4 staff members to approve it so I can put it in the library。 I did tweet Tyrus about how “adult” it is and he said there were some f words。 There are a few more cursies, but I wouldn’t say it’s too much for my high school kids。 Hopefully we can get it approved。 🤞 。。。more

I love and respect Tyrus, and applaud his honesty in sharing his story。 However, two factors, for me anyway, kept this from a five-star read。 Foremost, too many f-bombs。 Secondly, narrating his own book。 I'm thinking Michael Boatman may have been a good choice for narration。There is more to be shared, of course, and I hope Tyrus trusts his readers enough to publish another book。 I love and respect Tyrus, and applaud his honesty in sharing his story。 However, two factors, for me anyway, kept this from a five-star read。 Foremost, too many f-bombs。 Secondly, narrating his own book。 I'm thinking Michael Boatman may have been a good choice for narration。There is more to be shared, of course, and I hope Tyrus trusts his readers enough to publish another book。 。。。more

This book was wonderful。 I've only seen Tyrus on Fox, and have never seen him as a wrestler or anywhere else, so it was enlightening to hear his backstory。 It truly makes you appreciate his viewpoint all the more。 Entertaining and hard to put down。 Better than expected, and well worth the time to read。 This book was wonderful。 I've only seen Tyrus on Fox, and have never seen him as a wrestler or anywhere else, so it was enlightening to hear his backstory。 It truly makes you appreciate his viewpoint all the more。 Entertaining and hard to put down。 Better than expected, and well worth the time to read。 。。。more

What an amazing story of courage and determination to over come a tough childhood。 I had seen Tyrus on tv and another tv personality, that I highly regard, said this was the best book that they had read, with that, I had to read it。 I was not disappointed。 It was a quick read。

Honest and raw, Tyrus puts it all out there, from his explosive beginnings to where he has landed in the present。 He speaks from the heart and tells it like it is。 I have much admiration for this man for making mistakes and learning from them and making decisions that are right and forthcoming。 From football to college to wrestling to a TV personality, Tyrus comes through as a genuine, humble human being。 Don't let his size scare you, although it did come to this advantage in life。 I liked his h Honest and raw, Tyrus puts it all out there, from his explosive beginnings to where he has landed in the present。 He speaks from the heart and tells it like it is。 I have much admiration for this man for making mistakes and learning from them and making decisions that are right and forthcoming。 From football to college to wrestling to a TV personality, Tyrus comes through as a genuine, humble human being。 Don't let his size scare you, although it did come to this advantage in life。 I liked his humor。 His acknowledgements are filled with every person in his life who mentored him, who believed in him and who gave him the push and the chance to become a distinguished man with rare values in this day and age。 。。。more
